Priority Of Services

ELIGIBILITY, WAITLIST, AND PRIORITY OF SERVICES

Eligibility for CDC admission includes children ages six (6) weeks through 5 years or kindergarten for active duty military, DOD civilians, reservists on active duty, military retirees DOD Contractors or tenant activities on site (to include those employed at the child development center), grandchildren of DOD civilian employees, and parents of outside children. Installation Site Directors have the authority to establish a priority system for their site with the first priority given to children of active duty military personnel and DOD civilians.

The San Joaquin Child Development Center’s Priority for Care policy is as follows:

PRIORITY #1:

1. Single Active Duty Military

2. Single DOD Civilian

3. Dual Military/DOD Civilian Families (ie: sponsor and spouse are both military members, sponsor is military and spouse is DOD civilian, etc.)

PRIORITY #2:

1. Active Duty Military with a spouse who is either employed on a full time basis outside the home or

is a full time student (minimum 12 semester units)

2. DOD Civilian with a spouse who is either employed on a full time basis outside the home or is a

full time student (minimum 12 semester units)

PRIORITY #3:

1. Single DOD contractor or a member of a tenant company at San Joaquin

2. DOD contractor or a member of a tenant company at San Joaquin with a spouse who is either employed on a full time basis outside the home or is a full time student (minimum 12 semester units).

PRIORITY #4:                                                                                                                                              

1. Active Duty Military with a spouse who is either employed part-time or is a part-time student

2. DOD civilian with a spouse who is either employed part-time or is a part-time student

3. DOD contractor or a member of a tenant company at San Joaquin with a spouse who is either employed part-time or is a part-time student

4. Military/DOD Civilian/DOD contractor or a member of a tenant company at San Joaquin whose spouse is

unemployed.

PRIORITY #5:                                                    

1. Retired Military with a spouse who is either employed on a full time basis outside the home or is

a full time student (minimum 12 semester units).

PRIORITY #6:

1. Any families wishing to use the Partial Week Care Program (use priority #1-5 for waitlist placement).

When the CDC had reached their room capacity, an excess demand WAITLIST will be established.  Children will be placed in a vacancy using the aforementioned priorities. Questions concerning waitlists should be addressed to the Front Office at (209) 839-4901.

Note: Reservists and Guard members on active duty orders have the same priorities as Active Duty Military.  If not on active duty orders they have NO priority.

PRIORITY #7: A non-custodial DOD Grandparent who is employed by the Defense Distribution San Joaquin/Parents of outside children are required to sign paperwork stating that they will relinquish their spot if any of the above priority patrons are in need of childcare. Such non-custodial DOD Grandparent/parents of outside children will be given 30 day notification in such occurrence.

PRIORITY #8:

Hourly Care.
